  • Spring semester Admission: Every year Early Dec ~ Mid-Dec
  • Fall semester Admission: Every year Early Jun ~ Mid-Jun

• How to check your visa application materials

  • Check information: Every student will need to check information on their visa application materials sent by KGU
  • Check if a hard copy is required or not: Every student will be required to check if they need to submit a hard copy of visa application materials or not in order to receive an exchange or visiting student visa by asking the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Korea in their countries.
    • When hard copy required: KGU will send hard copies to a receiver by EMS or DHL
    • When hard copy not required: KGU will send PDF files to a receiver by email
  • Check who should receive: Each student should ask their home universities if they can receive their visa applications or not. If not, KGU will send them to each student’s home universities.

• When should apply for visa: ⚠️Should apply for visa right after receiving visa applications⚠️

• We strongly recommend you to finish your visa application by…

  • Spring Semester: late December ~ early January
  • Fall Semester: late June ~ early July

• Visa Type

  • Exchange Student: D-2-6
  • Visiting Student: D-2-8
  • Double Degree Student: D-2-2
  • Never enter Korea without a visa or with a tourist visa! Those withot a visa or with a tourist visa is Never possible to take courses at KGU by the law of the Korean government.

⚠️ Caution!

• NEVER enter Korea wihout an exchange or visiting student visa! (The visa type is different based on the mobility program that you choose)
• An exchange or visiting student visa is only for a single entry to Korea, so after your first entry to Korea, the visa will expire. It means that after your first arrival in Korea if you go abraod for a trip and need to leave Korea, your re-entry to Korea can NOT be allowed because your visa already expired.
• For re-entry to Korea, you need an Alien Registration Card which is a Korean ID card which foregin students must issue.
• The application ARC is only possible after your arrival in Korea. Also, you will be able to receive it around mid or late April for the spring semester and around mid or late October for the fall semester, which means you cannot go another country from Korea until then.
• So please get a proper visa and do not try to go aborad after firt arrival in Korea unless you have an ARC. Also, we cannot assure when your A.R.C can be issued so NEVER buy a flight ticket to go on a trip abroad before you receive your A.R.C!
